April Ruffner is a certified STOTT Pilates instructor with over ten years of experience. Her Pilates journey began 15 years ago when seeking relief from lower back pain. After a few sessions, she immediately felt the tension ease and began to fall in love with the idea of balancing the body through movement. She loved the exercises so much and how they felt in her body, she wanted to take her Pilates understanding and knowledge to a whole new level. She started the instructor training at John Garey Pilates in Long Beach. She has been trained in all of the apparatuses: chair, mat, reformer, ladder barrel, Cadillac, barre, etc. April has a unique way of teaching and combining technical knowledge with intuitive skill. April enjoys yoga and hiking in her free time while raising her three children.
April has worked with a variety of clients ranging from professional athletes, to beginners. She loves working with groups and the unique energy everyone brings. Her love of service and catering to each client shows.
Maura attended California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance in 1992. She completed her BASI Pilates training in 2007 and is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Trainer (CPT). She combines her extensive dance background and training with her BASI education, creating a balanced, challenging workout.
Her love of Dance and Pilates has afforded her the opportunity to combine her knowledge in these fields to help people reach their fitness goals. Pilates has changed her life in many positive ways. Maura teaches private and semi private sessions, Pilates Mat and the BOSU stability ball workout.
Glenna discovered pilates over 20 years ago while recovering from a back injury. Realizing the variety of benefits she began her journey to become certified in the Stott method. Glenna thinks pilates is a smart way to workout, it can reduce aches and pains, prevent injuries, increase flexibility all the while making you stronger leaner and de – stressed
Affectionately known as “Immy” to the countless individuals that call him friend, was born in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania. He moved to the US with his mom, sister, and stepdad in 1981. He has always had an affinity to help others. While in high school he started a wellness group that focused on maintaining a healthy diet. Continuing in that vein he pursued a career in massage therapy, understanding he had a gift and could share his positive energy through touch. Ibrahim quickly graduated from I.P.S.B., Culver City, CA and began working at Burke Williams day spa in 2004. There he rapidly made a name for himself connecting with his clients and colleagues through his selfless exchange of positive energy through affirmative conversation and a healing touch. Serving others at BW for over 17 years he wore many hats. He started at the front desk, just to get his foot in the door. He then became a therapist after a year as he learned the nuances of customer service and the ins and outs of the spa industry. Burke Williams saw his potential in customer service and noticed his ability to inspire others which let them to position him as a lead therapist. This led to many advances with the company. The positions include Manager On Duty, Massage Mentor, Assistant Facility Manager (Pasadena location), Senior Recruiter. During his many positions he worked Red Carpet at many prestigious events individuals the Golden Globes, Grammy’s and Academy Awards to mention a few. In 2015 he was featured as one of the top 5 Massage Therapists in Modern Luxury Magazine. Taking nothing for granted, Ibrahim travels around the world to improve his professional development and stay informed on the latest techniques and modalities. While being devoted to his craft and being highly regarded as one of the best, if not the best in his field he is a hands-on father to his 4 children. Spending time with his family and gathering friends together to hike all over beautiful Southern California are his forms of self care. He is truly one of the most selfless people I have ever met and I can unequivocally say he believes it is better to give than receive. But don’t take my word for it. Find out for yourself.
